CLdN Ports wish to recruit a Motor Mechanic to work within our busy Equipment Workshop and expanding Ro-Ro Terminal at Killingholme. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and have a flexible, professional and pro-active approach to work.

Your role

  • You will inspect service and MOT the terminal van and car fleet.
  • You will be required to undertake any repairs required to company owned vehicles and occasional minor repairs to the hired van fleet.
  • Use of internal and external bespoke IT programs to log repairs and order required parts as and when required.

Your profile

  • It is important that you have a good work ethic.
  • You ideally will be a time served apprentice with a minimum NVQ level 3 in vehicle mechanics or equivalent.
  • You will have previous experience of light commercial vehicle repair techniques and MOT preparation, including servicing and repairs.
  • It is essential you have a pro-active approach towards problem solving, workload and time management with good knowledge of Health and Safety.
  • You will have experience in using the latest diagnostic tools used for cars and vans.
  • You will hold a full clean driving licence.
  • You will have good interpersonal and communication skills as well as proficiency with bespoke and Microsoft systems.
  • You must be a self-motivated individual.
  • Good time-keeping is essential.
  • Ability to prioritise workload whilst working to tight timescales in accordance with company policies.
  • You must be able to work within a team.
  • A flexible approach to work is necessary as you will be expected to cover when required.
  • Must be willing to undertake any duties that may arise to contribute to the day-to-day running of the line equipment.
