CLdN Ports London Ltd is looking for a Health & Safety Apprentice to join the busy, fast paced environment of Health & Safety Department, as the company continues on its rapid growth. You will receive the appropriate training through a Health, Safety and Environment Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship, developing the skills necessary to be a competent Health and Safety professional. There will be the opportunity to progress with further training and the potential for future permanent employment for the right candidate.
Your role
- To study and pass the Health, Safety and Environment Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship.
- Adhere to and promote all required health, safety and welfare policies whilst supporting in maintaining the companies approved management systems.
- Support Health and Safety Manager and Officer in line with corporate, internal, legal and international industry standards.
- Assist in the provision of the sites Health, Safety and Environmental support and advice.
- Monitoring the completion of statutory checks in accordance with the agreed schedules.
- Hazard identification and site inspections.
- Attend local safety meetings and take accurate minutes of the meeting.
- Preparing and maintaining health, safety and environmental records.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses , including the review of risk assessments.
- Actively engage with employees to develop health and safety culture.
- Checking the first aid supplies and ensure that first aid kits adhere to the Safety Management requirements.
- Checking the contents of the safety noticeboards are adequate, relevant and kept up to date.
- Assisting in completing drug and alcohol testing, in accordance with the Company policy.
Your profile
- You will hold GCSE Grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
- Excellent IT skills are required including a good working knowledge of MS Office.
- High attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload.
- You should be reliable, flexible and adaptable with an enthusiastic approach.
